Specimen Requirement
Collect lavender EDTA, dark blue EDTA or lithium heparin. Centrifuge, pipette off the plasma and send 0.5 RBC in a trace element blood transport tube or send 0.5 RBC in original collection tube and label “Packed RBCs”. Do not send whole blood or plasma.
