Collect red top, lavender EDTA, sodium heparin, lithium heparin or sodium citrate. Send 1 mL serum/plasma minimum.
Specify peak, trough, or random level on requisition. For peak level, obtain specimen 30 minutes after I.V. dose. For trough level, obtain specimen immediately prior to next dose.
