Clinical Use
Aid in classifying hyperlipidemias. Values >30 mg/dL may indicate independent risk factor for CHD. High concentrations of plasma Lp(a) are strongly correlated with an increased risk for myocardial and cerebral infarction. Lp(a) concentrations are genetically determined and not affected by diet.
