Specimen Requirement
Collect specimen in three lavender-top (EDTA) tubes or PPT tubes. Centrifuge specimen within six hours of collection. Transfer minimum 5 mL plasma to one or more screw top transport tubes, indicating plasma on tubes. Freeze immediately and ship on dry ice. Do not place samples on dry ice until completely frozen.
Methodology
Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplification and DNA sequencing.
